Murthy Nukala

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Murthy is a veteran leader of innovative, technology-driven businesses. He was the founder of Digital Jones which was acquired by Shopping.com, a $130 million company that was the best performing IPO of 2004. At Shopping.com, he held the position of senior vice president of enterprise products overseeing the company’s strategic initiatives and businesses in that area. Murthy has also been in management positions at Composite Software and at Sand Hill Group where he guided the firm’s technology research agendas and investments.

Murthy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras; a Master’s degree in Engineering from M.I.T; and a Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard University.

Yogen Dalal

Managing Director, Mayfield Fund

Yogen sits on several boards. His investments include Arbor Software, BroadVision, Nuance, OuterBay, Snapfish, TIBCO, Vantive, and Whistle. Prior to joining Mayfield, Yogen was a founding member of both Claris Corporation and Metaphor Computer Systems. Yogen was also a member of the original Star and Ethernet development teams at Xerox and a co-author of the TCP Specification while at Stanford University. Yogen earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Stanford and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay where he was recently honored as a Distinguished Alum.

John Johnston

Co-Founder, August Capital

John co-founded August Capital in 1995. Prior to co-founding August Capital, John served as a general partner with two venture capital firms, Technology Venture Investors (TVI) and Hambrecht & Quist Venture Partners. During his venture career, John has invested in more than 25 companies, serving on more than 20 boards of directors. His high-technology venture invesTMents include eShop (Microsoft), Frame Technology, Intuit, Insignia Solutions, Logic Automation (Synopsys), Saros (FileNet), Sybase, Visio, and Xilinx. John received an AB in English from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard University.

In Memorium: Dr. Rajeev Motwani

Adchemy’s proprietary technology–a unique blend of various mathematical disciplines, including structured experimentation, statistical inference, machine learning, logistic regression and advanced data mining–was developed in conjunction with the late Dr. Rajeev Motwani, a computer science professor at Stanford University, who served as the Director of Graduate Studies and Google adviser.

Rajeev obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Berkeley in 1988. His research has spanned a diverse set of areas in computer science, including: databases and data mining; Web search and information retrieval; robotics; computational drug design; and theoretical computer science. Rajeev served on various industry boards and over 20 startup advisory boards, including Google.
